Kisses and Kicks: May 3 edition

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of May 3!

  • Kisses to our Rami, who is NOT that Rami. How could we not know the last name of someone we admire so much.
  • Kicks to the illiterate people who cannot read the sign at Piccadilly Park that says, “Please leash your pets and pick up after them.”
  • Kicks to the white Honda Civic flicking cigarette butts out the window coming off the 7:50 ferry Friday night.  YUCK! Three cigarettes in all our faces, trying to enjoy some fresh air on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
  • Kicks to a proposed car elevator in lower Gibsons.
  • Blowing grateful kisses next door to June, the sweetest neighbour anyone could ever hope for. Thank you for always bringing in my bin and always wearing a smile!
  • Kicks to myself for not always being the best person I should be. This is my reminder to practice patience, kindness and grace and to be a conscientious and understanding person even in difficult situations.
  • Kicks to the boaters who go too close to the sea lions in Shoal Channel and scare them into the water.
  • Kisses and a huge thank you to Keili Bartlett for her great writing for the Coast Reporter over the past three-plus years! She leaves big shoes to fill.
  • Double kicks those who seem to think that behind the mailboxes in Woodcreek Park is their personal garbage can for mail.

Email your Kisses and Kicks to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 1 p.m. every Tuesday for a given week.

Coast Reporter will run kisses and kicks entries as space permits on a first-received, first-published basis.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
