Sunshine Coast weather: Rains to retreat later today

Another 16 millimetres of rain is expected to arrive in Sechelt July 9.

Rain arrived and is to continue in many Sunshine Coast areas.

Showers quenched dry ground conditions and dissipated the dust on roads throughout the Sunshine Coast yesterday and more of the wet stuff is slated to arrive today, July 9.  Environment Canada is calling for some fog this morning and for the rain to end early this afternoon then cloud, with a the chance of showers declining to 60 per cent,for the latter part of the day. 

How much more rain will fall? Weatherhood forecasts that 16 millimetres is to come our way today.

Daytime high temperatures are expected to hit 19 degrees C according to that authority, with the mercury's high point climbing gradually as the week goes on.  Thursday's high is predicted to reach 20 degrees and 24 degree highs are expected for Friday and Saturday.
