Kisses and Kicks: March 1 edition

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of MONTH DAY!

  • Kisses to the folks who ran the German Corner Bakery in Davis Bay for their generous support over two years for those who live in shelter and supportive housing.
  • Sober kisses to the Roberts Creek Community Hall for having non alcoholic beer at their recent music event! I have been asking for years! Thank you!
  • Kicks to the restaurant who wouldn’t put two tables together so six people could sit together. They lost six people’s business that day and forever.
  • Kicks to realtors who advertise ALR listing as something with the potential to be removed from the Agriculture Land Reserve creating more pressure on our dwindling farmland.
  • Kisses to the lovely lady who found and delivered the binoculars we accidentally left at Flume beach. Thankful for honest neighbours!
  • Severe kicks to the thief who stole the snowboard bench, which I placed beside the Suncoast Trail for the benefit of weary hikers. Kisses if it’s returned.
  • Many kisses to Wayne, Arne and all the folks at the Gibsons Repair Cafe for the skilled and cheerful service in repairing all our broken stuff.
  • Big hugs & kisses to Sam & Mike at Anchor Hearing for being so helpful & caring after the sudden loss of our Archie. They are the best.
  • Kicks to drivers who pass school busses. Remember to smile as you drive past, as the school bus is equipped with many outside cameras. Not to mention the 2K fine for passing a school bus with its reds on.
  • A bucket full of kisses to the Gibsons IGA for so graciously facilitating our U12 girls rep. soccer fundraiser.  The money raised will go toward tournaments and team travel. Kisses to the Sunshine Coast community for your generous donations!
  • Big hugs and kisses to the lady who stopped to pick me up on Gibsons Way and drove me to the Sally Ann where I had left my cane. Again! I could not have made it up that hill without your help. Thank you. And thanks to your four legged back seat passenger too.
  • Big hugs and kisses to those wonderful people who work at the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Gibsons, who hold on to my cane, waiting for me to come back and get it. Again!

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
