Kisses and Kicks: Kisses for return of driver's licence, kicks fro hit and run

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of October 20!

  • Kisses to the RCCA for building the amazing back deck and for all the outside improvements to the Roberts Creek Hall. I salute you and your collective commitment to making our hall better and better each year!
  • Kisses to Jo, who had been waiting all day at the Sechelt Emergency. We came in with our four year old with a clavicle break. You shared your snacks, good humour and your spot in line!
  • Kicks to the person who hit and ran my truck while parked in front of GPAG. You left a note “scraped your bumper…sorry.” No contact info. You must have forgot! Truck parked in Lower G. Can update note!
  • Kisses to Leila at B and K Garden Centre. The custom potting of a wee hens and chick plant was a hit. Thank you for extraordinary customer service.
  • Kicks to people in ts’ukw’um who put out peanuts in their yards. Our eavestroughs and downspouts are clogged with shells from the birds, and the squirrels are frenetically digging up landscaping to hide the nuts for winter.
  • All the kisses to Gibsons IGA for so graciously facilitating our U16 Storm Girls rep. soccer fundraiser. Also thank you to the Coast community for being so generous. The money will go toward tournaments and team travel.
  • Kicks to those stealing donated books from the hospital ACU and units. Those books are there to provide comfort and something to do while waiting in hospital.
  • Kicks to people unwilling to learn new ways to dispose of garbage. Dog, cat and bird food, toilet paper and soil come in bags that can be repurposed. Adapt.
  • Kisses to the faerie folk (and their human helpers) for choosing Inglis trail to create their village.
  • Big hugs to the staff at Sechelt Hospital Emergency for keeping their sense of humour and providing excellent care on a demanding and crowded Saturday. Having a screw removed from my foot has never been so much fun.
  • A bouquet of kisses to the wonderful person who returned my wallet to the address on my drivers license. You went out of your way for me. An act of kindness which will not be forgotten.

Email your Kisses and Kicks to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 1 p.m. every Tuesday for a given week.

Coast Reporter will run kisses and kicks entries as space permits on a first-received, first-published basis.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
