Here are your kisses and kicks for the week of May 2!
- Hockey bags of kisses to Dr. Brian Nelson and Dr. Philip Kraukamp for sacrificing their Good Friday morning to save Randy’s eye from a retinal detachment. We are so lucky to have these stellar specialists on the Coast!
- Kisses to all the medical staff at shíshálh Hospital day surgery. Each one of you was positive, kind, and patient. You understood that your patients need reassurance and information. You brightened my day, in the midst of your extra-busy day.
- Downward Dog kisses to Meghan Styles and her gender diverse yoga classes! It’s about time women stand up for men’s rights.
- Kisses and a huge thank you to Sechelt Signs’ Duane Perrett for cleaning up St Hilda’s Church signage in time for Easter! Alleluia!
- Kisses and congratulations to all of the passengers in Horseshoe Bay April 21 who were in line five-plus hours when one of the operating ferries stopped operating. We witnessed no signs of impatience or rudeness and everyone treated the BC Ferries staff and fellow passengers with respect and good humour. I was impressed but not surprised. As Joe would proudly say “We are Canadian.”
- Many kisses to the kind gentleman who found my car key fob near Davis Bay and took the time to drop it off at the Sechelt Seniors Centre. My Seniors Centre tag on the key chain allowed the centre to find out who the key belonged to and gave me a call.
- Kisses to whoever is responsible for the recent landscaping adjacent to the highway at Tsain Ko mall. It is beautiful and very well done!
- Kisses to the wonderful volunteers out there who make our Sunshine Coast community stronger, kinder, and brighter. We’re grateful for all you do this National Volunteer Week and beyond!
- Kisses to the management and staff at Sechelt’s Rona for moving the Gibsons Paddle Club shed from storage to the Sechelt paddling compound. What a kind community effort.
- Kudos to the shíshálh Nation for having the foresight and care to put in a proper pedestrian crosswalk. Now what about the rest of the “highway” 101, specifically Trail Bay Mall, Davis Bay, and Poplars?
- Huge thanks to Best Buy for their guidance in getting me a fantastic cell phone package! You’re truly a one-stop shop store!
- Kisses to the fellows at Kenmac Parts, Gibsons; when I bought replacement windshield wiper blades they opened the package, explained the parts and even offered to put them on for me. Two degrees and I still find the task challenging. Who says service is dead?
