Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of July 26!
- Kisses to Ilean at Eye Deal optical in Gibsons for getting a lost iPhone back to me. Also, the lovely people at Porpoise Bay for finding my phone. Truly a remarkable community we have here!
- Grateful kisses to Charlie for coming to my aid when I was sprawled on the sidewalk and for driving me to emerg. Kisses too to the IGA staff who came running, the woman who brought a plastic bag to cover my bleeding foot and the various other strangers who provided compassion. You all made the experience tolerable and I thank you for that.
- Kicks to the bureaucrats who are well paid to do their job, yet mock the fact that they didn’t achieve any results. They act like, "What are you going to do about it?"
- Deep gratitude to the young man in the Gibsons mall who at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, witnessed my small wallet with cash, ID and all my cards fall out of my bag and ran to give it back to me. This act saved me much possible angst and lifted my spirits at this selfless act on his part.
- Kisses to the staff at Sechelt Hospital for helping me to obtain a much needed wheelchair on Saturday, when the Loan Cupboard was closed. Much appreciated!
- A litter full of kisses to Jennifer from Garden Bay who works tirelessly finding foster homes and rehoming dogs. Even driving miles to bring them to their forever home.
- Many kisses to roadside mechanic Charlotte, with the beautiful smile, who came to my rescue in Vancouver with her tire compressor.
- Bountiful kisses to BC Ferries for making this summers ferry travel so smooth and stress free!
- Kisses to all you SCRD employees, elected reps, and non-emergency RCMP, who unfailingly go out of your way to be kind, respectful, and helpful far beyond the ‘call of duty’ towards all of us needing assistance! You rock!
- Kudos to the fire departments that helped at the Salish Soils fire. As a neighbour, there was great concern about getting the fire under control. I really appreciate those volunteers!
