Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of June 7!
- Kisses to our generous community for donating to the Sechelt Food Bank at the World Hunger Day event in Hackett Park. Free hot dogs, chips and a drink were served! The Lions and Rotary clubs sponsored this event. Blue Western provided great tunes for line dancing. Many thanks for donated cash and food items.
- Loads of hugs to the gals who scooped me up from the sidewalk by the Royal Bank last Tuesday, took me inside and tended to my scrapes – you are angels!
- Kisses to all the residents of Port Stalashen who phoned the police and fire department the night of the big fire.
- Kicks to the thoughtless goofs who lit the fire in the driftwood and logs at the waterfront in Wilson Creek. Please have your bonfires in a proper manner, in a location that is safer for yourselves, your neighbours, and the firefighters to access, should it get out of control.
- Canine kicks to the lowlifes who drive around with their dogs (unsecured) in the box of their truck. Shame on you, you don’t deserve to have a dog.
- Kicks to anyone tossing their disgusting snot rags in our beautiful trails. Dogs/wildlife eat it and it just looks terrible. Keep it in your pocket for years like grandma used to do!
- Low blow kicks to the person who still has not removed their dumped machine, leaching toxins on the side of the highway in Sechelt. A $2,000 fine for littering should be issued every day it is not dealt with.
- Kisses to BC Hydro workers for responding so quickly to power outages.
- Kicks to all the impatient people who speed up preventing cars from exiting roads during high traffic times. Your life is not more important than theirs.
- Many kisses to the wonderful woman who gave me professional help on Friday at the public market. I fell off my bike. Not only did she expertly bandage my thumb but also packed the heavy electric bike into her van and gave me a ride home.
- Kisses and a chest full of blue ribbons to Elphinstone and Chatelech high schools volunteers for hosting the 500+ elementary students at a wonderful sunny track meet.
- Plant-based kicks to whoever left dozens of balloons strewn around Roberts Creek Pier.
