Kisses and Kicks: February 23 edition

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of February 23!

  • Kisses to the cashier at Ravens Cry Theatre who sought me out after the movie to return two stamps that I had dropped.
  • Kisses to Parker’s Tree Services for the great job in trimming our trees on Feb. 6. Parker and Joel were kind, professional and went over and above in their service.
  • Kicks to all the people sitting in their cars, trucks talking on their phone “with the engine running” Is gas not expensive enough? or is our atmosphere too clean for you?
  • Big Kick to the drivers that don’t stop at a crosswalk when there is someone walking in it...I have had people drive around me !
  • Kisses to Emily and Liz and their band of always-cheerful volunteers, who produce the amazing lunches at the Seniors’ Activity Centre. Wonderful fresh meals, especially the fish and chips!
  • Massive kicks to the person throwing their trash bags all over Redrooffs Rd. A good member of the community cleaned one pile up and I the other. FYI, I found some of your mail in it.
  • Car full of kisses to all the drivers who stop for people waiting at pedestrian crossings.
  • Kicks to the driver who almost hit me as I stepped off the curb at a walk sign. You can turn on a red light, but not into a pedestrian.
  • Kisses to everyone involved at Coast Reporter. So glad we still have a newspaper while so many others have folded.
  • Kicks to the lady in the red car on Feb. 17 leaving Sechelt around 11 am. The right hand lane leaving Sechelt to Gibsons is a turning lane onto shíshálh Nation  it is not a merging lane or a passing lane to get ahead.
  • Kicks to the woman who complained about my dogs when we were cleaning out Dad’s house. He passed away and it was an incredibly painful and emotional task. Especially when you knew the situation, give your head a shake maybe you will find some empathy in there!
  • Many hugs and kisses to the paramedics, doctors, care aids, and the dozens of staff who took care of me at the Sechelt Hospital. Luckily, I was soon home after only two days in hospital and my body and walking didn’t suffer. You are all so patient, thoughtful, caring and such humour after 12-hour shift! Thank you all!
