Several Gibsons churches will work together to provide Easter dinner on Sunday, April 21 to those facing hardship or isolation this Easter. No payment is expected from anyone who attends.

The venue is St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall on 956 Gibsons Way at Park Road. There will be continuous dinner service from 3:30 to 7 p.m.

The dinner will include turkey, ham, potatoes, and mixed vegetables, plus a selection of deserts. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and juice will be provided. Organizers expect to serve about 250 people.

Families are very welcome.

More volunteers are needed, as well as more baked deserts. Volunteers will work in one-hour shifts between 3 and 8 p.m. Volunteers are invited to join other guests to enjoy the meal. If you would like to assist, please call Kenan MacKenzie at 604-885-7810 or Paul Wagler at 604-747-1070.

The Christmas dinner provided by the churches was a resounding success. Both the mayor of Sechelt and the mayor of Gibsons participated in the meal as volunteers. Guests took away leftovers and meals for friends who could not attend. Meals were sent to homeless shelters in both Gibsons and Sechelt.
