Pender Harbour & Egmont: Treasures galore at Madeira Market

Madeira Market this and every Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind The Hall is a great place to visit and shop.

Madeira Market this and every Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind The Hall is a great place to visit and shop. Vendors have wonderful treasures to offer: Huckleberry Pottery, Rachel’s Artwork Rocks, Young Living potions, essential oils (and a whole lot more), dahlia bouquets, and summer bling! Delicious lunch from Tony at Triple B’s is a must and worth waiting for. The halibut and chips are five-star! Huge thanks to the talented entertainer, singer, songwriter, guitarist Matt Richards for great music last weekend and our fantastic, lovely vendors. Hope he will join us again this Saturday. COVID protocols in place. Tables are  $10 for vendors. Call 604-989-0851. Proceeds to the PHCC to maintain The Hall.

More great news for shoppers! The Bargain Barn will hold Inventory Reduction Sales throughout August with new offers each week. The latest “Sale of the Week” offer will be posted outside the door of Madeira Park Legion (where the pop-up is currently operating from). Remember to visit The Bargain Barn’s website www.bargainbarnpender.weebly.com and check for updates on Facebook and Instagram. Please note donations are accepted Wednesdays only at The Barn location where you will be asked to sort your donations.

This Sunday at The Club-house with their award-winning service is guaranteed to be a great time when you can dine from a super menu and enjoy Blue Line Trio out on The Patio. This very lively trio were the first to bring back the music to The Clubhouse. What a treat to see them again! Cover $5. Reservations recommended.

Thursday, Aug. 13, Harbourside Friendship welcomes music man Ken Johnson 10:30 a.m. outside at The Hall. Come join in the fun and enjoy the music of this fine entertainer. Bring a chair and packed lunch.

Seniors Initiative carries on with their popular activities throughout August: Wednesdays 1 to 3 p.m. at both Pender Harbour and Egmont Community Halls. Chair Yoga is Fridays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the PH Hall. Both activities are drop-in $3.

Thanks to Les and Diane Roberson, Northwest Crossfire Club (and loyal fans of this column) for the perfect get-together during these COVID times. The rally along our beautiful Sunshine Coast was fantastic, pure joy! Thanks too, for all the help caring for a damsel in distress with her Ladybug. My first time as a car club member and I highly recommend it. Safe distancing is mandatory.

Have a great week, everyone. Safety first. Be kind (the best way to be). Karma will reward you. Contact me with your news at [email protected] for the Friday edition of Coast Reporter.
