Harbour Gallery opens Friday, July 3 for the summer season. The extraordinarily talented local artists have been busy creating during the quiet time and have a wealth of new works on display including paintings, drawings, mosaics, stained glass and a wide selection of art prints and cards. This lovely gallery has been set up to easily facilitate social distancing. Hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., through July and August. Come spend a most enjoyable time. The Gallery is located at 12954 Gonzales Rd. (up the lane) and in the lovely landscaped grounds alongside Millennium Park and the government dock. 

Madeira Market will start their season this Saturday, July 4, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Madeira Gardens by Tony’s Triple B’s. Each week a variety of vendors will offer their crafts, jewelry, flowers, plants, pet supplies, pottery. Always an interesting place to shop and then have a delicious lunch under the shady trees. Proceeds go to the Pender Harbour Community Club maintaining our wonderful Hall. Tables/space just $10. Book by calling 604-989-0851. 

The Clubhouse welcomes back the awesome Patricia Burnett this Sunday, July 5 from 2 to 5 p.m. on The Patio. Come enjoy the best of all good things – food, music, spectacular views and the warm hospitality from Mike and his team. Reservations a good idea. 

Competition time! The Rotary Club of Pender Harbour is holding the Pender’s Perfect Pooch Photo Contest. The prizes are super! Go to the Rotary Club’s Facebook page to enter. Deadline Aug. 1. Winners announced Aug. 7. 

EarthFair Store, our treasure of a bookstore, gift shop and PODS activities centre, is moving down the street, across from the PH Community Hall. The location will be given TLC before reopening. Updates will be posted here, and you can follow them on Facebook. 

The beautiful summer weather is here and it’s the best time to explore our world, including the famous Princess Louisa Inlet and Skookumchuck Rapids. Strongwater Tours Egmont, part of Porpoise Bay Charters, are the fine folks that will give you the tour of a lifetime. While you are in the area remember to treat yourself to the delicious homemade delights from the Skookumchuck Bakery and Café open Wednesday to Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Order your cinny buns and gourmet pizzas ahead of time to avoid devastating disappointment.
