The 16th annual Blues Festival this past weekend was fantastic! Thank you to the amazing ace organizer Marilyn MacLeod for putting on the best ever festival. The music was over the top, the performers fabulous, the audiences so appreciative and energetic and the volunteers smiling and tireless. Pender Harbour was at its best in every way. 

The Madeira Park Visitor Information Centre is hiring! They are looking to hire two students this summer for July and August, Monday to Friday. Call Annelise at 604-736-9514 to apply. 

Pender Harbour Wildlife Society Potluck Picnic Tuesday, June 18, 5:30 p.m. is also a celebration of 40 years of wildlife stewardship. Come out and enjoy a shared potluck dinner, cake, games and guest speakers at the Iris Griffith Centre, 15200 Sunshine Coast Highway. 

Wednesday June 19, Wildfire at Your Doorstep moderated by Dave Lasser, operations manager of the Community Forest, will be presented at the Pender Harbour Legion at 6:30 p.m. In 2018 the Sunshine Coast experienced the longest period of extreme fire hazard. You will learn what the province can do, what your community can do and what you can do. 

Harbourside Friendship Thursday, June 20 come putting at the Pender Harbour Golf Club. Meet at the golf club at 10:30 a.m. and hit the putting green, followed by lunch at the Club House Restaurant at 11:45 a.m. Please sign up with Marlene before the 20th at 604-883-9900. 

Pender Harbour Lions Club Bark in the Park starts off at 11 a.m. Sunday June 23. This event is for everyone, four-legged and two-legged, including a Seniors walk. The $15 registration includes a bandana and goodie bag. All proceeds go to the Lions Club for hall and park improvements.
