Wanted: a coordinator for this year’s Applefest. Halfmoon Bay Community Association (HBCA) is seeking someone who would like experience in putting together a special event. Katie Angermeyer, who has coordinated for the last 10 years, will be unable to coordinate the Applefest this year but has promised to help with her knowledge and experience. There will also be support from sponsors HBCA. Please contract Terry Knight if you would like to know more; email teknight@telus.net.

The Coasters Car Club’s 24th annual motorsports weekend is Aug. 9 to 11. The 30 km Sleepy Hollow Rod Run cruises through Redrooffs Road starting at 6:15 p.m. from Sechelt on Friday, led by local RCMP with 400+ classic cars winding their way through the almost 4,000 spectators who line the highway from Sechelt to the Halfmoon Bay Fire Hall. Participants are always amazed at the warm welcome and enthusiasm by the cheering crowds that gather alongside the roadway. The spectators make signs, dress in costumes and place couches and lawn chairs in their driveways. Please make them welcome in our neighbourhood.
