Madeira Friday Markets are back! The first of the season will be next Friday, June 28, 10 to 3 p.m. at Madeira Park Gardens behind the Community Hall. There will be a wonderful variety of crafts, farm fresh delights and other treasures. Carry on shopping till you drop at the Bargain Barn then enjoy lunch and coffee from Triple B’s under the shady trees. Vendors are invited to attend and may contact Carol at 883-2272 to reserve a spot. The next dates are Aug. 2 and Aug. 30. These markets help support the Pender Harbour Community Club. Harbourside Friendship Thursday, June 27 will be a wonderful get-together with music from our favourite performers Joan and Ted. Doors open at The Hall at 10:30 a.m. and lunch is served at noon. Drop in $10. July 4 will be a special outing for Garden Tour & High Tea at GeoPia’s Gallery. The Duck Bus is reserved departing at 1 p.m. with returning ETA 4:30 p.m. Reserve with Marlene 883-9900. Cost $10.
Students! The Madeira Park Visitor Information Centre is hiring. They are looking to hire two students this summer for July and August, Monday to Friday. Call Annelise at 604-736-9514 to apply.
Summer is a busy time. It goes by too fast so you will want to mark your calendars and plan to attend Pender Harbour Days Aug. 2 through 4. This is an annual celebration of Pender Harbour heritage featuring historical boats, land-based displays and sailing competitions. There will also be arts, music, kids’ activities and entertainment.
