Hootsuite adds former Meta, PayPal marketer to C-suite

Vancouver company's executive team now 75% women, 71% American

Hootsuite continues to tap the U.S. for executive talent with the hiring of Elina Vilk as the company’s new chief marketing officer.

Vilk  most recently worked with WooCommerce, where she was global chief marketing officer, and previously led marketing teams for Meta, PayPal, eBay and Visa. She lives in San Francisco, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Vilk joins an executive suite that is made up of a majority of women, according to Hootsuite: Seventy-five per cent of the company’s executive team are women.

The executive team is also made up of a majority of American talent. Five of Hootsuite’s seven executive officers are based in the U.S., according to their LinkedIn profiles.

“As I looked for our next CMO, Elina stood out for her expertise in harnessing the power of social to glean insights into the needs, wants and pain points throughout the customer's journey,” Hootsuite CEO Irina Novoselsky said in a press release. “With that she builds authentic relationships that drive revenue and through her role will help guide our customers to do the same.”
