Roughing It

Editor: I would like to take this very sad time to thank this wonderful Sunshine Coast community for all the help that we received during our terrible time of need.

Editor: This letter was sent to B.C. Premier John Horgan. BC Timber Sales (BCTS) is out of control. There have been concerns about BCTS for years and we had hoped that with the NDP forming government, more oversight and control would be put on BCTS.

Editor: Carbon powers our lives. It is also unravelling them. It’s time that each one of us be accountable for how we contribute to this existential problem.

Editor: Here is some science for Gayle Neilson (“Believe the scientists,” Letters, Sept. 6), based on half a century working as a geologist on earth science information. The climate has been changing for millions of years.

Editor: There has been a spate of tragic deaths lately on the Sunshine Coast. These deaths have left orphans bereft and at risk of dying slowly of starvation or predation. Even more tragic is the fact that almost all of these losses were preventable.
