Re: B.C. government to look at cost of building bridge to Sunshine Coast.

Just thought I would offer a much cheaper more practical suggestion to Minister Stone – teach all of us Sunshine Coasters how to walk on water. A quick and easy-peasy course should do it. I am sure a snake oil seller or two could provide courses at minimal costs and the benefits would be immeasurably astronomical. And then once that is done and the report is presented to the legislature, we can avoid getting sidetracked by stupid ideas and get on with what really matters.

In terms of provincial budget priorities, the annual consultations of the BC Finance Committee say a lot and the recommendations are endless. For starters, here’s a reminder or two: how about funding public education to reflect real costs of ensuring a quality, inclusive education for all children and youth in public schools; tackling wait lists in health care and support services for seniors; addressing eradication of poverty; and developing affordable child care and housing.
