Rather than be faced with another provincial election before we have had the time to reform it, I would like to see the lieutenant-governor invite Andrew Weaver to form a government. Before you say I must be completely off my rocker, take a minute or so to think about it
One would assume that Weaver would form a cabinet from the most capable and knowledgeable members on both sides of the house; one would expect to see a roughly even, but not necessarily equal, number from each side. Then, in contrast to paying lip service to cooperation while looking for the first opportunity to take the other side down, they would be forced to seek out common ground on which a start could be made on building things for the betterment of B.C.
It can’t be worse than to what we otherwise appear to be heading. It might even work.
