Bravo to Mr. Gordon Bader for his letter (“Water to waste,” June 17), which pointed out that we are wasting gallons of water that we could be accumulating during these downpours we have naturally every year.
Logic asks: Why are we poor residents to be punished with water meters? We who let our lawns go brown, follow water restrictions, collect buckets of water as we wait for the hot water to run. We are doing our part. What is our municipality doing? Nothing.
Why has the municipality not built a cistern to collect all this rainwater? There is building going on everywhere, the results of which will further strain our water system. Why not hire one of these companies to build a large cistern?
Or is this too logical?
