Sunshine Coast Regional District:
I am wondering if anyone can tell us what, if anything, is being done regarding the containment system for our watershed on the Sunshine Coast.
As any of us who live here full-time know, we pay our inflated taxes and hope that important issues like this one are dealt with through our local SCRD and powers that be.
We also know the amount of rain that we get – which tells us the fact that water shortage should not be an issue here.
Please quit using expensive Band-Aids like water meters, which in my opinion is simply another cash grab, and deal with the containment issue of our watershed.
Let’s do this before another year has gone by, and summertime comes again with the added influx of people drawing demand on our water.
We, the people who live here year round, are not going to go away – neither is this issue.
I look forward to hearing back in a letter to the paper so we can ALL see exactly how this important issue is moving forward.
