Editor:
Our BC Liberal Party, which is really a mix of Social Credit and other right-wing factions, have sold out on democratic principles regarding party fundraising. They have fat coffers to run this election from money which should not be allowed, including from foreign corporations, B.C. corporations and unions. In the absence of electoral reform, a fair and proportional method of funding elections would be to give each party $2 per vote as was done federally before former PM Harper did away with it.
The NDP (although they are now accepting union funding and say they will do this until the rules are changed to make it fair to each party) are campaigning on disallowing all union and corporate funding as well as pushing for electoral reform if they are elected. This sounds democratic.
