Re: “Petition calls for ‘resident priority’ loading,” Sept. 2.
My, my – how people can so be easily swayed amazes me. Dear Mr. Ryan Medd, instead of getting people’s dander up about signing your petition, how about just arriving early to the ferry. And, for those who are so eager to sign the petition, how about just arriving early to the ferry. I am a strong believer in going back to the way it was – first come, first serve. Reservations are nonsense – just for those who can afford it. And now if this petition goes through, we will have a three-tier system.
Last year we had to get a contractor over from the Vancouver area because no one on the Sunshine Coast had the equipment to do the work. I have a question for Mr. Medd: “If vehicles of residents are to be loaded first, will we have to ask the ferry corporation for a permission slip to allow contractors to board in the residents line because, after all, the work is for a resident?”
