One of the aims of the Community Forest is to promote the recreational use of forests on the Sunshine Coast. The Community Forest and the Sunshine Coast Trails Society worked together in 2017 to create a new loop trail around Wormy Lake in Halfmoon Bay, including creating and installing signs to promote the trail. Many of the signs were vandalized or stolen in an attempt to spoil the work of volunteers and others who had put hundreds of hours into the project. While the perpetrators have not yet been identified, the signs have now been replaced. Our sincere thanks go to Tyler Lambert of Capilano Highways who agreed to purchase and reinstall the new signs free of charge.
We have a great community and a few senseless malicious acts will not lessen the resolve of others to make it a better one.
