To cross or not to cross

To me, it doesn't make sense, to think you can win if you step out in front of a vehicle while texting, or even without looking to confirm that it's safe. Sure, the vehicle is not supposed to run into you, but if you think that being run over is worth your life or limb, think again.

True,it is the driver of the vehicle who is responsible to look out for those who think they are invincible. Suing the driver may make you or your loved ones who are left feel a little better, but do you really think that being dead or maimed for life is worth the financial gain?

We have all, at one time or another, stepped onto the road without looking, but shouldn't we be teaching our young people responsible rules of the road? Has stop, look and listen been replaced with dumb, dumb and dumber?
