The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is planning another major thrust to install water meters. What part of “no” do they not understand? The mayor of Sechelt has punted the responsibility of any such action to the SCRD, however she and one other council person are the Sechelt representatives on the nine-member SCRD board. The initial proposal was soundly defeated. If it is to be revived again it should be the responsibility of the SCRD to secure enough “yes” votes for support, by referendum.
Negative billing is a shunned marketing practice so why should it be allowed as a second effort for political issues?
The taxpaying people have already spoken. Listen! SCRD is there to serve, not rule.
