It was very interesting to see the earnings of Town of Gibsons staff included in your last issue. Going back over my tax records from 1996 to 2014, I’ve found they have been on a steady increase. Could there be some conclusion drawn here?
Reading your paper over the last while, there seems to be a fraction of voices crying the town is doomed if does not keep growing at a steady pace. This may or may not be so, but one thing is for sure: the good people of this town will be looking ahead to years of tax increases, more projects, more staff — you get the picture. It’s happening all the time all over this country, and to what effect — a better quality of life?
Seems to me the bigger the hole, the bigger the mess. Some may not agree, but these are interesting times for the town one way or the other.
