Taking away our access

The ferry reservation system change is really a bad idea, wrapped up inside of a sneaky fare increase. If ferries are 95 per cent reserved, you can say goodbye to getting to medical appointments on short notice, also goodbye to staying a bit longer to enjoy a play or game in Vancouver and catching a later ferry than you had planned. Goodbye to spontaneous trips to the Lower Mainland, and goodbye to catching a ferry after a long drive home from visiting in the Interior, since you have no idea what time your trip will end. You are basically giving over access to our home area to tourists.

No question that some changes are needed but this will make a bad situation worse for residents.
