Due to skewing of votes on this most recent question about the Gibsons aquifer, I would definitely say that this poll is not a perfect way to gauge public opinion. Coast Reporter should stop doing this question of the week immediately. It seems technology has far surpassed an even playing ground in this arena. Given that Gibsons does not even have a population of 5,000, it looks like every man, woman and child must have voted on your question. Not possible, so skewed it was. I witnessed it personally on Facebook where people voting “no” were encouraging others to vote likewise, and vote many times on your poll. Scrap it!
Secondly, I question the actual wording of that question. I believe your question highlighted the divisiveness in our community once again, because you made your question more about stopping the George than about the threat to our aquifer and the GABC’s commitment to stand up for it. Your question could have read: “Do you support the GABC standing up to the Town and the developer trying to protect your drinking water?”
