Stop building, fix water

Letters

Editor:

For all the years, since 1973, I have lived on the Sunshine Coast there has always been a shortage of water during the summer months. During our first few years here our pipes were dry by 3 p.m.

The problem still hasn’t been solved.

Houses, apartments, hotels are still being built and subdivisions are planned and breaking ground – with no progress in providing all of us with enough water, let alone all these future new dwellings.

Surely the SCRD, Town of Gibsons and District of Sechelt should be putting a freeze on building permits and subdivision plans until the water supply problem has been solved once and for all for this growing population.
