I worry about the chilling effect of the $900 fine levied against the owning corporation of Block 7 Gospel Rock for damaging protected trees.
The oppressive severity of the Town on this file! Why, a person could attend a couple of events or gatherings that flouted COVID rules – or at least one event or gathering anyway – and not face such a staggering reprimand. Who will ever propose new development within town boundaries again, knowing that they could face a penalty in the high three figures for ignoring environmental restrictions?
