Selma Park is one of the oldest neighbourhoods on the Sunshine Coast. I’ve lived here a mere 20 years, but I like my postal code! Canada Post says they need to change our postal code because “Sechelt is growing.”

That’s too bad. It shouldn’t be growing until we have proper infrastructure. Also, that’s what’s still nice about Sechelt. It’s still a small town, although our politicians are hell-bent on turning us into a suburb of Vancouver.

I can see that Sechelt is growing. I have only to look out my window at what was, a few years back, a heavily forested hillside; it was clear-cut and new houses are now spreading like a cancerous growth.

Here’s an idea! Why not give all the new subdivisions a new postal code, and leave us alone?
