On behalf of all the families with school-aged children who live along Davis Bay,Whitaker, Bay, Laurel, Chapman, Geer and Havies roads, I ask the drivers who are taking the detour route toplease slow down. Many of our children either walk or bike to and from their school/bus stop every morning and afternoon and they would like to continue to do so regardless of whether their route is fairly calm or very busy.
Please, remember that kids like to run and jump and keep up with their friends, which sometimes means they take up a bit more of the road than they are supposed to.
It's up to all of us, as responsible drivers, to watch out for these - our kids.
