As we look back on this school year, we have seen unprecedented challenges of what it is like living within a pandemic. Through all of what we have witnessed and experienced, we have survived. We are still on our feet, maybe a touch dazed yet amazingly resilient.

As a former school administrator and teacher, I commend my colleagues for their tenacity, courage and professionalism during this time of upheaval. I know what it is like being on the front lines and behind the scenes in a school environment. I understand the frustrations that come from working as hard as you can and still thinking more can be done.

To the students and teachers who have faced these challenges, I offer congratulations to those who have helped our children progress through their school year and to the youth who have shown their mentors their capacity for energy, dynamism and a true sense of purpose during these difficult times.

Bravo to you all!
