With the critical B.C. film industry regaining momentum as pandemic restrictions ease, the Town of Gibsons’ redesign of its School Road/South Fletcher Road intersection couldn’t be better timed.
Where were our production companies going to find the stunt drivers they thirst for if we didn’t provide our young people with a convenient place to practise rollovers?
It used to be that a driver coming down School Road would face a gradual right turn onto Fletcher, making it difficult to get any decent air under the passenger side tires.
But with the cleverly sharpened new corner, it’s the work of an instant - the vehicles practically flip themselves!
With this amenity now available to local driving instructors, we can be confident that Gibsons won’t be left out as the Christmas-movie-filming season approaches, and that our young drivers will be able to get the surrogate U.S. police cars up on two wheels for the sleigh-chasing scenes.
