I’d like to add my support to Ashleigh Carter’s letter last week regarding off-leash dogs (“You love Spot, we might not”).
I, too, am fed up with dog owners thinking it is OK for their “friendly” dog to gallop towards me. It makes me nervous.
One dog owner suggested I “walk somewhere else.” Might I suggest you take your pooch to a designated off-leash area.
I like dogs and understand the joy they give their owners. However, I would like to be able to walk in my neighbourhood – on the streets, lanes, seawall and parks – and feel safe.
If you keep your dog on a leash and under your control, as the bylaw requires, then we can all enjoy feeling safe when outside.
