I just drove from Gibsons to Sechelt and back. I understand that a little road maintenance now will save money in the long run but I have to ask: 1) Does it need to be done on a long weekend? 2) Does the contractor have to put down that much sand and gravel? Not all of us are looking to have our cars sandblasted as we drive. Or is it a way of generating business for the local glass repair and body shops in town? Also: it must be extremely dangerous for motorbikes and cyclists. Please hire someone with a broom and bucket and clean up as you go or bring in a street cleaner after each section is done.
