When is the municipality going to take the housing crisis seriously? My husband and I are one of the many couples that have been recently evicted to make way for the landlord to repossess the property. We are one of the many working couples looking for an affordable rental.
The Gibsons area has 158 places listed in Airbnb for the month of June. Why are people being allowed to rent out rooms, suites or houses for vacation purposes while working people are being forced to consider living in campsites, cars or moving?
It is COVID time. We are in a state of emergency as far as housing is concerned. Tourism will be back up on the Coast this summer but it remains to see for how long people can stick around if they can’t find a place to live.
