Lucky you to have received so many emails from our Sunshine Coast Grade 5 students, a generation that will come to lead us. How refreshing, to have ideas expressed such as a free electric car for those who need one. As we enter the Fourth Industrial Revolution, automation is disrupting our economy. Is a discussion around a universal benefit – yes, free money, to mitigate economic disparity and eliminate citizen suffering – foolish? With a little research, you will find that Greta Thunberg is a reluctant grassroots leader. She has been deeply affected by the state of our planet. Righteousness is meaningless when survival is threatened after irreversible climate change and mass extinction. Perhaps, their fears are real.
