I see the Royal Bank made record profits again. Ten billion dollars! Was this not the same bank that attempted to bring in foreign workers (who would get paid a pittance) awhile back so they would have less expenses?
How many other Canadian companies are also fixated with the same mindset? How naive are we that we hand them our money on a silver platter? Do they care that these wages are minuscule in keeping the economy moving? Or that money that leaves the country will never come back?
There are lots of single mothers in Canada who would love to have employment at that level instead of welfare. Perhaps if we checked our wallets we could do our bit to re-circulate our cash in our communities, employ our own people and generate wealth at home.
We are just now attempting to recognize buying local as good stewardship! Go figure, Christy Clark!
