Seeing that governments, particularly past but also present, have made such an acute mess of our coastal ferry service, perhaps they could entertain the following suggestion:
Plain and simply put, priority boarding, up to a predetermined percentage of ferry capacity, should be allotted to Sunshine Coast residents. I’m sure the high-priced help at the Ferry Corporation could iron out the details of such a plan. Arriving at the Horseshoe Bay terminal at 5:30 p.m. on a holiday weekend and not getting home to Sechelt until midnight is just plain wrong, and we shouldn’t have to wait until 2024 to resolve this problem.
