Power of the press

Letters

Editor:

In a world where peoples’ basic needs are being privatized and democracy is under siege from corporate power and money, the press is more important than ever. The press in all its forms creates and sways public opinion. Sadly, much of our press is serving the powerful rather than democratic principles. We have seen this abundantly in our B.C. referendum for electoral reform.
