PM unfit to hold office

Letters

Editor:

It seems that there are only two people in Liberal Ottawa left with any integrity at all and they are Jane Philpott and Jody Wilson-Raybould, who, in her testimony before the House of Commons Justice Committee, came across as the most credible of witnesses, with documentation to back up everything she said.

In the lead-up to this, we were treated to a succession of half-truths, empty denials, prevarications and innuendos about the character of Wilson-Raybould, all coming from those in the small circle around our prime minister, Justin Trudeau.

The SNC-Lavalin affair is just the latest in a long string of broken promises, missteps and outright scandal brought about by the Trudeau government. The mantra of Justin Trudeau (and that of his equally incompetent acolytes) is to do whatever it takes to keep Quebec happy, as therein lies the key to power. It is very clear that jobs in Quebec and protecting, at all costs, the Liberal Quebec position are more important than truth, integrity and good governance for the rest of us. Give Quebec whatever it wants but throw the West and our resource industries (which create much of our wealth) under the bus.

It is clear to all (except the most partisan of Liberals) that Justin Trudeau has no integrity and no shame and has finally, once and for all, proven himself completely unfit to hold the office of prime minister. He is, in fact, far worse than his predecessors, who made no pretense of being cloaked in holier than thou sunny ways claptrap.

Please also consider the hypocrisy that Meng Wanzhou of Huawei must be treated according to the rule of law yet SNC-Lavalin need not be, in order to protect jobs and votes in Quebec. A venal corrupt double standard, if ever there was one.

All of this should be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and it is my fervent hope that common sense will prevail at the ballot box in October and we can be forever rid of Trudeau and his ilk.
