Re: The Opinion Page cartoon, Coast Reporter, July 14.
This highly offensive cartoon (showing a legless vet in a wheelchair being tossed a single coin into his begging cup by a representative of the federal government as they give a $10-million compensation package to Omar Khadr) is insulting to this writer and I hope to many vets. Let it be known to the cartoonist Greg Perry that veterans are not beggars. Period!
Regarding “The complex case of Omar Khadr” in the same issue: Bravo, kudos and everything honourable to Bill Good for a compassionate, heartfelt defence of child warrior/family protector and just a 15-year-old kid at the time, one Omar Khadr.
