Pay-for-use water

Letters

Editor:

Here are my two cents on our current water woes. (1) In the interest of fairness and water conservation, water meters should be installed immediately in all businesses and residences that do not currently have them. (2) The water rates must be set high enough to encourage conservation. (3) Surplus revenue should be set aside to offset some of the high cost of new water sources and storage facilities. (4) Fix the leaks. (5) Stop wasting time and energy on water-use restrictions which are unenforceable. (6) Let people decide for themselves what they want to use their water supply for. The more they use, the more they will pay.
