Park process suspect

Letters

Editor:

For the second BC Parks Tetrahedron Park open house I walked out before the meeting in Roberts Creek Hall ended.

Vicki Haberl, BC Parks planner, was talking about BC Parks staff of the day (1995) in reference to the park designation. She noted then planner Mel Turner, district manager Drew Carmichael, and the area supervisor (no name presented) had been recently contacted for information regarding the current Chapman Lake/Tetrahedron Park process and designation options. I should mention here I was the area supervisor of the day but have not been contacted by Haberl or any existing staff.

Haberl could not possibly have said this without knowing I was sitting in front of her, in the second row. So I kept my mouth silent so as not to blow up the meeting. After a couple minutes I had to walk out.

Yes, I have responded to the process to Environment Minister George Heyman, to Haberl, and in the press. Was I not named because I am deeply involved in our water solution?

Seems something is not right here. This process is taking on an odour not found with clean water.
