Gibsons Council:
I have a few questions with regards to the Gibsons Recycling Depot model being dismantled.
We have the only zero waste facility of its kind in Canada, and they are wildly successful at what they do. Everyone is happy with its efficiency and proud of our green model. They employ and educate our young people.
Why would our leaders not keep it running under this model? Do you really believe you know what is better for us with little or no experience in this realm? Your voting community is speaking volumes! Why are you not listening? Is it because you just don’t care and you’re happy to pass the responsibility to the SCRD?
Our recycling is a key component to Gibsons being a green town and walking the talk. This is ridiculous and somewhat embarrassing. Since you, Gibsons council, are our leaders, can you give us some clear and meaningful answers?
