No parking, ever

In response to the letter writer's complaint about being "kicked when down" (Coast Reporter, Oct. 5), I suggest a simple way to avoid this is by not being down in the first place. The way to accomplish this is by obeying posted signs, learning the rules of the road, showing courtesy to others and using basic common sense.

When a sign says drop-off it means that you are not to park there, and it doesn't matter whether you are parked for three minutes or three hours. There is a short-term parking lot 20 metres away that is to be utilized by those needing a little more time to unload for the ferry, such as when a child is not yet at a developmental stage to navigate a busy parking lot alone.

Use it next time instead of inconveniencing others, and there will not be a problem. Further, I am so thankful there are people in this community who are willing to speak up when others are behaving inappropriately. Kisses to them!
