It is totally incomprehensible to me that the Ministry of Health and the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority have not cancelled the agreement with Trellis Seniors Services to build a for-profit senior care home on the Sunshine Coast, even after the report from B.C. Seniors Advocate Isobel Mackenzie clearly set out the huge differences between quality of care provided by public versus private care. Up to the last election, I always believed the NDP’s commitment to publicly funded and operated health care. Obviously I was wrong and I am so disappointed in the party I helped to elect.
