For the record, curbside collection has been available to residential customers in Gibsons from 1997. Coastline Recycling has been serving the Sunshine Coast with recycling solutions for both residential and business clients since that time.
My husband and I are business owners for 22 years. We are always delighted and happy to see other entrepreneurs succeed in their endeavours. Owning your own business has highs and lows all the time.
However, when we read all the articles written about Buddy and Barb, we often wonder why their accomplishments are always highlighted in our local newspaper?
Every time a company expands, spends or adds another entity to their company, they generally just have to advertise with their own money to spread the word.
We appreciate you wrote the article to celebrate that curbside collection is now available in Gibsons, but perhaps you could've just simply celebrated in saying, "Gibsons Recycling is now offering curbside collection."
We have been offering curbside since 1997, Second Hans has been doing his service for many years, and Direct Disposal wants to expand their curbside from Sechelt to the entire Coast.
We are also tired of the poor "woe is me" story. Everything to do with Gibsons Recycling is how they are always doing everything with no money to spare, "no meat on the bone." We ask ourselves how does a company exist if you're only doing it because it is "the right thing to do''?
We have been silent for a long time, but we can't take this martyr approach to business anymore. Every business we know has suffered along their journey and we don't know of any that has been publicized as much as Gibsons Recycling.
