Editor:
Let me begin by thanking those responsible for the excellent outcome of Saturday’s election; George Goudie, for his belief in water as the number one issue and his tireless support for me; Allan Choquer, who knows all there is to know about bringing a clean, affordable and endless supply of water to Sechelt and the Sunshine Coast; my family, in particular my lovely wife Barbara, for being who you are; the Coast Reporter team of John and Sean for being the professionals that you are; and you the voters of Sechelt who wanted and initiated needed change.
When I decided to run to change the inbred attitude of the Sechelt council, more than one person questioned my sanity. Well, the election results speak for themselves. The deadwood is gone and there is hope for the future. There is an enormous supply of fresh, clean water from a new source, Clowhom Lake, and it is more than doable. The work is just beginning for the taxpayers of the Sunshine Coast. The bureaucracy is still in place and has the attitude of they know better than we do as to what the real solutions are – and that is not Chapman Lake and water meters. My team and I offer our time and effort to steer the water solution in the right direction. I will contact the powers that be and keep you posted. All that remains is to see if this council can work with the citizens of Sechelt.
